Job summary

Wellington Management seeks a Senior Portfolio Accounting Analyst to ensure the integrity of reconciliation records with client custodians, banks and prime brokers. You will research and resolve reconciliation items, analyze data, and drive process improvements within a collaborative, global team.

The role demands strong accounting knowledge for fixed income and equity, experience in reconciliation, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree.
• 5-7 years of experience in the Financial Services industry.
• Accounting, custody, and/or reconciliation experience.
• Experience with data in Excel, SQL or Python is a plus.
• Deep understanding of accounting for fixed income and equity.
• Baseline understanding of accounting for derivatives and synthetic exposures.
• Inquisitive and comfortable challenging the status-quo.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills and attention to detail.
• Comfort working across a global team.
• Strong interpersonal skills in a collaborative, results-oriented environment.
• Cheerful, self-motivated and energetic.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal groups to identify and resolve open reconciliation items.
• Identify break patterns and opportunities for process improvements.
• Use bank portals to research position, cash, and market value differences.
• Maintain concise documentation and audit trails for in-flight items.
• Analyze bank data to improve reconciliation quality.
• Collaborate and guide outsourced team members on escalated issues.
