Job summary

A rural local planning authority is seeking a Planning Policy Officer to support the preparation of the Replacement Local Development Plan. This key position involves undertaking research, collaborating with stakeholders, and monitoring planning policy impacts. The ideal candidate has experience in planning, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of Geographical Information Systems. About the role

This is a key position in the Planning Policy team to support the preparation of the Powys Replacement Local Development Plan.

The right person will:

  • Be passionate about working for a rural local planning authority.
    Have previous experience of working in planning or a related sector.
  • Be a good communicator and enjoy working as part of a team and with other people and organisations.
  • Have experience of Geographical Information Systems and database management.
    Have an attention for detail.
What you will do

The job holder will support the Council by:

  • Undertaking research and evidence gathering on specific planning policy topic areas to inform planning policy.
  • Engaging and collaborating with partners and stake-holders on the development of planning policy.
  • Monitoring the delivery and impact of planning policies.
