Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Leeds is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale data centre construction projects for prominent technology clients across the UK. You will manage delivery from inception to commissioning, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes establishing project governance, schedules, cost controls and risk management, while guiding procurement, reporting, and client interface to ensure objectives are met.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years project management experience, preferably in digital/data centres.
• Professionally qualified in construction, project management, engineering, or architecture.
• Thorough understanding of the full project life cycle from conception through to completion and post‑review.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of core PM concepts, tools and techniques.
• Design, management or construction experience within general construction environments (residential, office, fit-outs and health & education).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise at project conception on approaches to achieve client objectives.
• Lead the establishment of overall success criteria (time, cost, performance).
• Plan and manage quality, safety, health and environment issues.
• Establish project governance, processes and systems for the project.
• Produce the detailed project plan and manage progress.
• Advise on procurement of resources and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Monitor performance using KPIs and manage change control.
• Monitor and advise on project finances.
• Coordinate project information flow with client and consultants.
• Produce formal project progress reports and interfacing with client throughout all stages.
