Job summary

Cloudsmith is seeking a platform-minded software engineer to build and own the developer-facing tools at the heart of how engineers integrate with Cloudsmith. You’ll own the CLI, Terraform provider, MCP integration, IDE extensions, and related interfaces that must evolve with the platform.

You’ll collaborate with Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, and external customers to ensure tooling matches real-world workflows, balancing usability with robustness.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong API and interface design instincts.
• Proficiency in at least one strongly-typed language (Go, Python, or TypeScript).
• Security-aware coding practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and modern DevOps toolchains.
• Clear, written communication.
• Empathy for engineers as users.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Cloudsmith's developer-facing integrations: CLI, Terraform provider, MCP server, and IDE extensions.
• Design interfaces that stand the test of time with thoughtful versioning and backwards compatibility.
• Own the full software development lifecycle from design to release and long-term support.
• Stay close to the platform, collaborating with the broader engineering org and external customers.
• Turn customer feedback into durable tooling improvements that scale.
• Champion developer experience and advocate for the user at every step.
• Contribute to a culture of automation across testing, releases, and validation.
