Standard Life plc is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to shape and operate our developer platform for Pensions & Savings technology. You will lead tooling, automation and reusable workflows across GitHub, Copilot, and portal services, partnering with architecture, security and operations to deliver secure, scalable experiences.

You will own complex technical work, implement golden paths, automation and self-service capabilities, and collaborate across enterprise teams to improve onboarding,

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on platform engineering and DevOps experience.
• Practical GitHub experience with CI/CD and secure workflows.
• Security-first approach to operating enterprise tooling.
• Experience with cloud environments and artefact management.
• Ability to own complex technical work and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate and continuously improve secure internal developer platform capabilities.
• Create golden paths and automated onboarding journeys for workloads.
• Administer GitHub and Copilot capabilities, onboarding and policies.
• Develop platform automation using GitHub Actions, APIs and IaC.
• Support artefact and container management with secure controls.
• Contribute to developer portal and self-service capabilities.
• Embed security, governance and observability into platform services.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve issues and improve tooling.
