Job summary

Oscar Technology is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer in Nottingham to own and evolve a cloud-centric platform. You will shape Azure infrastructure, drive IaC adoption with Terraform, and manage Kubernetes workloads while guiding DevOps practices and platform reliability.

The role offers hybrid working, with at least one day in the Nottingham office, and a clear path to influence archtecture and engineering standards across the data platform.

Qualifications

• Senior Platform Engineer with cloud, infrastructure as code and DevOps expertise.
• Experience owning Azure cloud estates, security, reliability and cost control.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD and automation practices.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the Azure cloud estate, ensuring security, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Lead the adoption of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code across existing infra.
• Own and operate Kubernetes workloads, including deployments and scaling.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Support cloud migration and separation projects across Azure and GCP.
• Design, automate and test disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
• Improve monitoring, alerting and observability across the platform.
• Manage cloud security, identity, secrets and certificates.
• Provide technical guidance on Azure architecture and platform engineering.
• Troubleshoot complex infra issues and act as senior escalation point.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve platform reliability and developer experience.
