Job summary

Genio in Leeds is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to shape and run Genio's end-to-end cloud infrastructure. You will define architecture, drive cloud strategy, and collaborate with engineering squads to improve reliability and cost efficiency.

You will lead platform initiatives, mentor engineers, and champion DevOps practices across teams, while focusing on scalability, security, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in scripting and programming with Python and/or Bash for automation and tooling.
• Proficient with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Strong experience with AWS or Google Cloud.
• Experience operating, upgrading, networking, and debugging Kubernetes clusters under load.
• Proven ownership of production service reliability and implementing security practices (SLIs, incident response).

Responsibilities

• Evolve Genio's cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and resilience; apply IaC and CI/CD best practices.
• Maintain and improve observability with monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing; advocate SLOs, SLAs, SLIs.
• Lead incidents as PlatformOps incident lead; coordinate response and post-incident reviews.
• Drive automation of repetitive tasks with scalable frameworks.
• Raise the technical capability of other teams by advising and mentoring engineers.
