Job summary

Chainguard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform team. You’ll design and build backend services and public APIs that power Chainguard’s products, collaborating with Product and Experience teams to ship reliable, scalable features.

You’ll own features end-to-end, from design through rollout, tackle API versioning and security concerns, and help evolve a cloud-native microservices stack using Go, containers, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience with 5+ years building production services and APIs.
• Proficiency with Go (Golang) or readiness to ramp quickly.
• Experience designing and evolving public APIs used across products or services.
• Familiarity with microservices and cloud-native architectures, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across PMs, designers, and engineers.
• Thrives in a remote, startup environment with a proactive, ship-it mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve customer-facing backend services and public APIs powering Chainguard’s products.
• Own features end-to-end from design through rollout and iteration with Product and Experience teams.
• Create technical design documents and drive clear design plans.
• Contribute to a product-driven roadmap with realistic deadlines and outcomes.
