The role

As a Senior Plant Engineer, you’ll take on a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of managing submarine docks, nuclear fuel handling and radioactive waste facilities - critical to supporting the Ministry of Defence’s nuclear submarine programme. Your work will ensure safe and compliant facilities for maintenance, upkeep and disposal activities, making a real difference to national security and shaping the future of defence engineering.

  • Implementing nuclear safety case requirements to operate docks and associated facilities.
  • Enabling safe delivery of work packages, ensuring controls are in place for nuclear safety evolutions.
  • Overseeing control of work, site operations, and plant maintenance.
  • Supporting projects in the design and installation of new engineering and infrastructure.
  • Liaising with operational teams, conducting health and safety walkdowns, and resolving facility defects.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.
