Job summary

Wiltshire Council in Wiltshire is seeking a highly motivated Senior Planning Officer to contribute to the preparation, monitoring and review of the county's development plans by shaping planning policies on challenging topics. Qualifications

• Significant experience in planning policy and plan making and/or GIS software applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and mentor junior staff.
• Ideally a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to preparation, monitoring and review of the county's development plans by shaping planning policies.
• Progress Wiltshire Local Plan including minerals and waste and support Neighbourhood Plans.
• Measure performance of the development plan and support regional strategies with neighbouring authorities.
• Lead on planning-related themes to shape Wiltshire's communities and environment.
