A local government body is seeking a Senior Planning Officer to manage and determine complex planning applications. Join us as a Senior Planning Officer working in Development Management at Buckinghamshire Council. You'll be part of a team handling a broad range of planning cases, helping shape the future of Buckinghamshire.

Our Planning, Growth and Sustainability directorate works with partners to shape the future and deliver services in planning, economic growth, regeneration, strategic infrastructure, transport and property.
As a Senior Planner you will manage and determine complex planning applications, lead on professional advice throughout all stages of the planning process, including PPA, S106 negotiations and planning appeals. You will provide a high‑quality service responsive to customer demands, work collaboratively with colleagues, mentor junior officers, and sign off applications. The role is based in the Development Management Team 3, located in the county centre, and requires a full driving licence.
As an ‘any‑desk’ worker you will be able to work from home or from office locations, but you will need to be in the office at least two days a week.
Extensive experience in Development Management is a must. You should meet the following:
We operate a 40:60 working arrangement: two days in the office, the rest remotely. Flexible and part‑time work is considered.
Thursday 18th, Friday 19th and Monday 22nd December 2025.
