Job summary

A leading construction group in London is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join their HS2 team. The successful candidate will assist the Planning Manager in developing and monitoring construction programs, ensuring compliance with planning standards, and managing risks. Candidates should possess a degree in civil engineering and experience in civil engineering project planning. Competence in Primavera P6 and Tilos is essential. This role offers a chance to contribute to significant infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in civil engineering or an appropriate professional qualification.
  • Prior experience in planning function in civil engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of the development and implementation of Asset structures and Planning processes.

We are looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to join our HS2 team in London.

Reporting to the Planning Manager to assist the Planning Manager to develop and monitor the construction programme. Ensuring compliance with the SCS planning standards and HS2 requirements to provide a safe, efficient and cost‑effective programme meeting all required access dates, milestones and key dates.

What you'll do:
  • Assist the Planning Manager in development of the Asset Structure, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), calendars and dates to be used by SCS, aligned with the Cost Break Down Structure (CBS) and Employer's Data Dictionary.
  • Help to develop cost and resource loaded construction programmes during ECI Stage One with submission in accordance to the required delivery milestones.
  • Ensuring the Construction programme meets all required access dates, milestones and key dates in compliance with the Employer's Planning requirements, contract data and works information.
  • Contribute to assessment of programme risks and programme risk analysis, including development and implementation of mitigation measures.
  • Interfacing with other functional teams including, but not limited to: BIM Team, design team, estimation and construction execution.
What you'll bring to the role:
  • Degree in civil engineering or an appropriate professional qualification
  • Prior experience in planning function in civil engineering projects
  • Knowledge of the development and implementation of Asset structures, Planning Standards, WBS and Planning processes in a BIM environment.
  • Competence in Primavera P6 and Tilos
  • Knowledge of Safety, Environment and Risk Management
