Job summary

Peak District National Park Authority is seeking an enforcement professional to manage development control within the National Park. You will monitor sites, investigate planning breaches, negotiate resolutions or pursue enforcement action, draft reports and notices, and assist with prosecutions in conjunction with legal officers.

You'll work with in-house specialists across conservation, archaeology, landscape, ecology and arboriculture, with opportunities for professional development in

Qualifications

• Ability to negotiate and make balanced judgments, including in conflict situations.
• Experience of development management practice, planning law and regulations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor sites and investigate complaints of planning breaches and resolve them through negotiation or enforcement action.
• Draft reports and formal notices and deal with appeals, including prosecutions with support of legal officers.
• Present evidence in court as required.
• Collaborate with in-house conservation, archaeology, landscape, ecology and arboriculture specialists for professional development in planning enforcement.
