Job summary

Navartis Ltd seeks a Senior Planner for a major power and energy portfolio in the UK. The role focuses on developing and maintaining detailed programmes for civils and energy infrastructure, coordinating with site teams and stakeholders to hit milestones across 132kV projects.

You will use Primavera P6 and other tools, with hybrid working arrangements and a clear path to contribute to major transmission and distribution schemes while collaborating with Tier 1 contractors.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as Planner/Senior Planner on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience in power, energy or utilities sector (desirable).
• Experience with transmission & distribution (T&D) projects (desirable).
• Experience working on projects up to 132kV (advantageous).
• Strong background in civils/infrastructure construction.
• Experience with or alongside Tier 1 contractors is preferred.
• Excellent planning, programme management and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage and maintain detailed project programmes from planning through to completion.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams, engineers, subcontractors and commercial teams to meet programme objectives.
• Monitor progress against baselines and identify delays, risks and opportunities.
• Provide regular programme updates, reports and analysis to stakeholders.
• Support development of project schedules, methodologies and delivery strategies.
• Coordinate programme information across multiple workstreams and disciplines.
• Identify programme risks and devise mitigation and recovery plans.
• Ensure programmes reflect site activities, resources and milestones.

Senior Planner - Power & Energy

The Role

A major infrastructure contractor with expertise in delivering infrastructure that powers the UK's energy systems and keeps its transportation networks moving is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Planner to join the business supporting a portfolio of works for SSE across projects up to 132kV. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner with a background in power, energy or major infrastructure, particularly those who have worked within transmission and distribution (T&D) environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing project programmes, monitoring progress and providing accurate planning information across a range of civils and energy infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage and maintain detailed project programmes from planning through to completion.
• Work closely with project managers, site teams, engineers, subcontractors and commercial teams to ensure programme objectives are achieved.
• Monitor project progress against agreed baselines and identify potential delays, risks and opportunities.
• Provide regular programme updates, reports and analysis to project stakeholders.
• Support the development of project schedules, methodologies and delivery strategies.
• Coordinate programme information across multiple workstreams and project disciplines.

About You

• Significant experience working as a Planner/Senior Planner on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience within the power, energy or utilities sector (highly desirable)
• Experience delivering projects involving transmission and distribution (T&D) (highly desirable)
• Experience working on projects up to 132kV (advantageous)
• A strong background in civils/infrastructure construction.
• Experience working for or alongside Tier 1 contractors is preferred.
• Strong understanding of project planning, programme management and project controls.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with site and project teams while also managing your own workload.
• Experience with Primavera P6 or equivalent planning software.

Package

• £65,000 basic salary
• £8,000 car allowance or cash allowance for private car use
• 10% annual discretionary bonus
• Private medical insurance
• 5% employer pension contribution, increasing to 6% in 2027
• Hybrid working available

Location

The role will be based from the Bathgate office, with hybrid working available.
