Senior Planner

Location: Newcastle

Penguin Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a leading planning consultancy with their search for a Senior Planner. They have an impressive range of public and private sector clients, providing expert advice and securing planning permissions for high-profile development projects across the UK.

They are continuously expanding and offering an exciting variety of projects across multiple sectors. They specialise in planning and environmental consultancy and covers sectors such as residential, commercial, industrial, education, retail, energy, leisure, and employment.

At the forefront of their services is offering their clients transparent and unparalleled advice.

Candidates are required to have:

  • Relevant qualifications in planning and at least 3+ years’ experience
  • Preferably Chartered with the RTPI
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
  • Work and mentor junior staff
  • Experience in planning consultancy or EIA management is desirable
  • A commitment to sustainability and responsible development.

What does the role involve?

  • Collaborte with clients to understand their planning needs and guide them through the planning process.
  • Lead and manage a vast range of projects and clients.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Work on Planning projects in various regimes, such as Marine, Environmental, Renewable and Major Infrastructure.
  • Engage with stakeholders, local authorities, and communities to advocate for projects.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to support Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
  • Manage EIA projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to standards.
  • Stay current with planning legislation, policy updates, and best practices in the field.
