Job description

We are currently seeking experienced Senior Planners to join our dynamic team on a full‑time basis. The successful candidates will have strong client‑side planning experience with a particular focus on interface planning. You will lead collaborative planning workshops, act as an ambassador for process and procedure, and provide critical friend support to our clients. Our team is multi‑disciplinary, so a wide range of experience and/or willingness to learn is crucial. Responsibilities
  • You’ll lead and facilitate collaborative planning workshops, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Support and drive interface planning activities, identifying and managing key internal and external interfaces.
  • Act as a critical friend to project teams, providing challenge, support, and best‑practice guidance.
  • Champion planning processes, procedures, and governance, acting as an ambassador for high standards and consistency.
  • Develop robust, realistic schedule estimates using Primavera P6.
  • Define the Basis of Schedule including key assumptions, exclusions, constraints, and dependencies.
  • Work closely with Cost, Risk, and wider project teams to ensure alignment of assumptions and fully integrated planning.
  • Identify interface risks and support QSRA processes alongside the Risk team.
  • Validate schedule estimates using benchmark data and design information (including BIM where applicable).
Qualifications
  • Strong client‑side experience with a focus on interface planning.
  • Solid background in construction and infrastructure planning.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6.
  • 6+ years planning experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead workshops confidently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge of BIM, 4D planning, and related digital tools.
  • Degree‑level qualification and/or APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and NEC/JCT/FIDIC contracts.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (APM, ICE, CIOB).
Requirements and Location
  • Full right to work in the UK.
  • Working from home and 1‑2 days per week in Birmingham.
