Job summary

A leading engineering firm in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Planner to oversee planning and project controls for UK Water Engineering and Construction projects. You will develop project programmes and manage multiple projects in the Water sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and experience with Primavera P6. This position offers the opportunity to work on significant infrastructure projects across England, Scotland, and Wales.

Job description

As a Senior Planner, you will take ownership of planning and project controls across individual projects and programme-level delivery. You will work closely with project teams and client stakeholders, ensuring robust programme development, accurate reporting, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring contractual and procedural alignment. Lead planning and controls functions across multiple projects. Integrate suppliers' programmes and monitor critical path and float. Assess programme impact related to compensation events, claims, and time extensions. Produce progress reports and communicate milestones and risks to management and clients.
• Support and guide junior planners, helping build our growing planning capability.

Requirements

• Strong background in planning and project controls. Proven experience managing multi-project programme delivery. Exposure to multi-disciplinary design, construct, and commissioning works – ideally within the Water sector.
• Advanced experience in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Degree or relevant experience within Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
