Job summary

John Sisk & Son Ltd in London seeks a Senior Planner to lead the planning management for pre-construction and construction phases on a major commercial scheme. You will develop baseline and tender programmes with clear logic and critical path, and drive improvements against contract targets.

The role requires advanced Primavera P6 skills, progress analysis and strong people leadership to coordinate design, procurement and site activities with the management team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Overview

John Sisk & Son are looking for a Senior Planner to join their UK Construction Business Unit to work on a commercial scheme in London. To lead the planning management function for the Sisk group of companies. To set the standard for planning and project controls and regularly review the function in the pre‑construction and construction phases. To develop a consistent approach and produce regular reports to feedback on progress and performance to the group board. Responsibilities

• Lead in the development of the baseline contract programme, covering all aspects of design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. All elements to be fully logic linked and have a critical path.
• Lead in the preparation of a construction (target) programme highlighting areas of improvement against the contract programme.
• Prepare a tender event programme for the procurement of subcontractors incorporating design release and lead‑in activities.
• Maintain electronic files and administration of planning and programme documents to facilitate retrieval as required, utilising the common data environment (CDE).
• Provide all programme information as required to support the management team.
• Develop a 4D graphical model, where required, or 2D phasing plans to represent the sequence of build, phasing and logistics.
• Use the construction programme to produce or assist in the production of project prelim books including, but not limited to, staff resource, logistics and temporary works requirements.
• Engage with the supply chain to develop the project programme with regards to design, lead‑ins, construction periods, plant and labour requirements.
• Review risk and opportunities for every programme produced and highlight potential mitigation measures in the programme, including float and time risk allowances.

Experience

• Advanced construction project management software training – progress analysis and S‑curve reporting, managing costs and resources.
• Advanced Primavera P6 training – managing costs and resources.
• Managing People training.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or diploma.
• Qualifications in construction management.
• Certification for use of planning and programme software.
• Membership of a relevant professional body, where applicable.
