Job summary

Howden Group is seeking a senior technical expert in financial lines coverage and claims. You will own claims advocacy for nominated major clients, act as an escalation point for PI and FI matters, and provide expert guidance on policy wordings and coverage.

You will draft wordings and negotiate with insurers, supporting tenders and developing client propositions. A background in Lloyd’s markets and regulatory awareness is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in financial lines insurance claims, policy wordings development or a legal role.
• Experience as a claims or technical wordings specialist within Lloyd’s and international markets.
• Strong knowledge of financial lines claims handling and policy wordings.

Responsibilities

• Lead claims advocacy for nominated clients from notification to submission and resolution.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex PI and FI claims, providing technical guidance.
• Advise clients and brokers on policy wordings and coverage, negotiating with insurers when needed.
• Draft base and bespoke policy wordings informed by market developments and client needs.
• Build relationships with insurers and internal teams to secure strong client outcomes.
• Monitor regulatory and market developments and translate into practical advice.
• Support new business tenders and contribute to client value propositions.
• Coach colleagues on complex claims and share technical expertise.
