We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist aspiring to pursue a career within acute and community services. This is suitable for an experienced Physiotherapist looking to develop skills at senior level or for an existing Senior Physiotherapist looking for greater diversity to join the Frailty Physiotherapy rotation in Portsmouth. We have a comprehensive rotational pathway which balances the development of specialist knowledge and skills with gaining a diverse experience in a range of care settings.
The rotation covers two organisations – Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS Foundation Trust and Portsmouth Hospital University Trust.
Rotations are split over both employing organisations and include:
The clinical work requires the post holder to have a broad but in-depth knowledge of the types of conditions and needs typically experienced by older people along with expert skills in improving and maintaining function in the elderly. The ideal candidate will also have experience in supervision and training of others including students and have specialist skills in assessment and therapeutic interventions with older people.
Successful candidates will have a strong team work ethic, a sense of accountability accompanied by an ability to work under pressure at times.
In return we will provide the necessary support to ensure your development within the role and support our staff through a clear career pathway and encourage promotional opportunities. This support will occur through a mix of supervisions (clinical, management and safeguarding) provided by a Senior Physiotherapist, personal development plans and the candidate’s own active participation in supervision and education of others.
You will have the chance to enhance current service delivery and be involved in on‑going service developments, including research, audits and reviews.
The service is covered over seven days and you will be required to work weekends and early and late shift patterns on certain rotations.
You must be a car driver and owner with the relevant business insurance cover and be able to use your car for work.
