Job description
Overview

We are looking for a full‑time B6 Musculoskeletal Specialist physiotherapist to join the Whipps Cross Therapies team at Barts Health Trust. The role involves working within a first‑class teaching hospital, delivering evidence‑informed manual and exercise therapy, and supporting undergraduate and postgraduate education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide face‑to‑face and virtual assessments and treatments for a broad range of peripheral and spinal patients.
  • Supervise a Band 5 physiotherapist and students, delivering appraisals, teaching, and clinical support.
  • Collaborate with orthopaedic, rheumatology, and community pain clinics across hospital and community sites.
  • Act as a Musculoskeletal Audit Champion and contribute to service development, project management and audit initiatives.
  • Engage in GP liaison activities and support Band 7 line managers to strengthen leadership and management skills.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date evidence‑based in‑service training programme covering joint‑specific theory, practical skills and clinical implementation.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified physiotherapist with HCPC registration.
  • Experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, ideally with an orthopaedic inpatient rotation.
  • Strong baseline knowledge of musculoskeletal principles and a proven track record of treating diverse peripheral and spinal conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage demanding caseloads and develop junior staff.
  • Evidence of involvement in audit, project management or service development is desirable.
