A health service provider in Whitley Bay seeks a Senior Pharmacy Technician to coordinate activities within the medicine hub. The role involves managing pharmacy staff, ensuring high standards in medicines management, and providing support to healthcare teams. Ideal candidates will have experience in pharmacy services, a strong understanding of prescription interpretation, and the ability to improve patient care through effective management. Working for NPC North Tyneside Neighbourhood practices, you will be working between 49 Marine Avenue, Park Parade, Nelson and Spring Terrace surgeries. The Senior Pharmacy Technician will co-ordinate the medicine hub activities to the extent necessary to ensure the development and maintenance of a high standard of patient care, sound teamwork and close co-operation with the clinical and managerial team.
The post holder will work under the management of the Clinical Pharmacy Service to deliver a comprehensive medicines management in a primary care setting to ensure a safe and efficient service is maintained, delivering a range of medicines management activities including medicines reconciliation and repeat prescription requests.
Pharmacy staff in all sectors and other healthcare professionals will ensure a patient orientated medicines management service is provided, conducting medicines reviews for patients. To work closely with the Clinical Pharmacist to adopt a team approach to medicines management. To work with the Clinical Pharmacist to develop and undertake medicines management audits, to support discussion within the practice and agree subsequent actions.
