A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician to coordinate medicine hub activities, ensuring high standards of patient care and effective teamwork. Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, managing a pharmacy team, and conducting medicines management audits. Ideal candidates will have a relevant pharmacy degree and strong communication skills. The position is based in Lynemouth, with a closing date for applications on 8 Dec 2025.
Working for Central Neighbourhood practices, you will be working between Lynemouth & Newbiggin, Morpeth & Pegswood and Lintoville surgeries. The Senior Pharmacy Technician will co‑ordinate the medicine hub activities to the extent necessary to ensure the development and maintenance of a high standard of patient care, sound teamwork and close co‑operation with the clinical and managerial team.
The post holder will work under the management of the Clinical Pharmacy Service to deliver a comprehensive medicines management in a primary care setting to ensure a safe and efficient service is maintained, delivering a range of medicines management activities including medicines reconciliation and repeat prescription requests.
Pharmacy staff in all sectors and other healthcare professionals will ensure a patient orientated medicines management service is provided, conducting medicines reviews for patients. To work closely with the Clinical Pharmacist to adopt a team approach to medicines management. To work with the Clinical Pharmacist to develop and undertake medicines management audits, to support discussion within the practice and agree subsequent actions.
