Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy IT team based at Basildon Hospital, with cross-site opportunities across the trust. You will help implement the new Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system and provide digital system support to clinical pharmacy teams.

The role requires strong IT skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Sciences or equivalent.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• ATC (ACT) trained is required.
• Membership of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK (APTUK).

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Pharmacy ePMA and Digital Systems team to support, maintain and develop pharmacy and Trust-wide digital systems.
• Hold responsibility for a defined portfolio of MSE pharmacy systems, ensuring systems are effectively managed, supported and optimised.
• Contribute as a senior member of the MSE Digital Systems team, supporting system strategy, development and continual improvement.
• Provide digital and analytical support to clinical pharmacy teams, particularly in the investigation, monitoring and tracking of medicines savings schemes.
• Produce accurate and timely reports to support clinical, operational and financial decision-making.
• Deliver a range of internal and external reports to meet organisational, regional and national requirements.
• Support effective use of digital systems across pharmacy teams, promoting good data quality and system governance.
