Job summary

The William Harvey Hospital in the NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will support the dispensary team, dispensing in-patient and out-patient prescriptions and discharge summaries, and contribute to safe pharmaceutical services across wards and departments.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services, at least 2 years of dispensing experience, and strong communication skills. Weekend/late/bank holiday rotas are included.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years dispensing experience in hospital or retail pharmacy.
• Experience in a customer-facing role.

Job description

This 12-month fixed-term Senior Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer post sits in the Pharmacy Dispensary team at The William Harvey Hospital, part of East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. The work centres on dispensing in-patient and out-patient prescriptions and discharge summaries to wards and departments, and supporting section managers. Rotas include weekends, late duties and bank holidays, and training covers all hospital dispensary services. Visa sponsorship is not available, so applicants on a graduate or post-study visa can work the role only until it expires.
