Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our department for a qualified Pharmacy Assistant to join our team, to cover maternity leave (12 months). The role is varied and constantly evolving to meet the needs of the service, which delivers pharmaceutical care to community hospitals, mental health inpatient wards, mental health community teams and specialised clinical services across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. You will work with a diverse range of staff and patients, so must be able to work collaboratively to deliver the highest quality of care. Currently there are no weekend duties, bank holiday working or late nights. You may be expected to work some Saturday mornings in the future. 1.0 FTE is available, however we are advertising separately for band 3 Senior Pharmacy Assistant and band 4 Pharmacy technician as we are open to receive applications for both. Banding will be determined by the successful applicant.

This is full time post, but we would consider applicants looking for part time.

Please note the Trust will not routinely provide sponsorship to work for this role. In addition to meet Home Office salary threshold you must have the significant experience to be offered top of the pay band AND work a minimum of 35.5 hours per week.

This is a fixed term post to provide cover for absence for specific purpose that we anticipate will be required for 12 months. We reserve the right to end this contract sooner with appropriate notice.

Responsibilities

As a senior pharmacy assistant, you will lead tasks relating to either medicines procurement, pharmacy IT system administration, dispensing or stock delivery to wards. This will involve regular travel across the Trust to visit clinical areas as part of our stock top up service.

You will be required to work independently and as part of a team and to supervise/ line manage designated members of staff.

Qualifications
  • GCSE (or equivalent) grade 4 or above in Maths, Science and English Language (all 3 are required).
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent).
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.
