Scrumconnect Consulting in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Performance Tester to deliver hands-on load and performance testing across large-scale digital services and backend applications, including cloud-based distributed environments.

You will operate in governed settings where performance, resilience, and scalability are critical, working with developers, architects, and operations to identify bottlenecks and drive reliable releases.

Qualificações

• Knowledge of APIs, HTTP, databases, messaging and caching
• Experience with backend and distributed system performance
• Experience with logs and monitoring data

Responsabilidades

• Design and execute load, stress, volume, soak, and scalability tests
• Analyse performance results, logs, and system metrics to identify bottlenecks
• Gather and Validate performance NFRs, volumetrics, and capacity assumptions
• Prepare and maintain performance test scripts and execution runbooks
• Execute tests in cloud-hosted (AWS) non-production environments
• Raise performance defects with clear technical evidence
• Support CI/CD integration for performance testing where required
• Contribute to test reports, defect triage, and test completion evidence
• Work closely with developers, architects, platform, and operations teams
• Strong experience in performance testing of enterprise systems
• Hands-on delivery using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, k6 (or equivalent)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Performance Tester to deliver hands‑on load and performance testing across large-scale digital services and backend applications, with experience of working with cloud‑based distributed services.

This is a technical, delivery-focused role operating in structured and governed environments where performance, resilience, and scalability are critical to service success.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute load, stress, volume, soak, and scalability tests
• Analyse performance results, logs, and system metrics to identify bottlenecks
• Gather and Validate performance NFRs, volumetrics, and capacity assumptions
• Prepare and maintain performance test scripts and execution runbooks
• Execute tests in cloud-hosted (AWS) non-production environments
• Raise performance defects with clear technical evidence
• Support CI/CD integration for performance testing where required
• Contribute to test reports, defect triage, and test completion evidence
• Work closely with developers, architects, platform, and operations teams
• Strong experience in performance testing of enterprise systems

Scope & Accountability

• Responsible for hands‑on performance test design and execution
• Owns quality and accuracy of assigned test artefacts and results
• Contributes analysis and recommendations but does not hold final assurance authority
• Works under the direction of a Lead Performance Tester or Test Manager
• Accountable for timely delivery of agreed performance testing activities

Solid understanding of:

• APIs, HTTP, databases, messaging, caching
• Backend and distributed system performance characteristics
• Experience analysing logs and monitoring data
• Familiarity with Agile and hybrid delivery models
• Experience working in regulated or high‑assurance environments
• Experience with APM tools (e.g. Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Elastic Search with Kibana/Grafana across digital services )
• Public‑sector or large programme delivery experience
• Familiarity with GDS
