Who are we?

We’re Standard Life, a retirement specialist focused entirely on retirement savings and income. We champion the belief that everyone’s journey to and through retirement can be better, and for more than 200 years, we’ve been helping our customers plan and prepare for their financial futures.

Life today is increasingly complicated, uncertain and unpredictable. People move through different careers, face unexpected moments and navigate important choices. We offer our colleagues flexibility, trust and benefits that work for whatever life brings. In return we expect curiosity, connection, accountability and high standards. We make room for what matters - so you can bring your best, every day.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Performance Analyst to join a high‑profile team at the centre of strategic decision‑making. This diverse role provides unique exposure to both internal performance management and external market‑facing activities, offering the chance to influence business outcomes through a broad and impactful lens.

Internally, you will play a key role in delivering insightful performance reporting, including ownership of Remuneration Committee reporting and Group Scorecard analysis, helping senior leaders monitor progress against strategic objectives. Externally, you will partner closely with Investor Relations to support the preparation of investor presentations, Interim and Annual Results materials, and executive briefing packs for the CFO. You will also provide peer benchmarking, market intelligence and strategic insight to help shape compelling external narratives and ensure investor messaging is fully aligned with internal performance.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified accountant / actuary with strong financial reporting and FP&A experience who is looking to broaden their impact beyond traditional finance, gain exposure to executive and investor‑facing activities, and play a meaningful role in shaping the performance story of the Group.

The role:

  • Responsible for the delivery of timely and high‑quality reporting to the Board Renumeration Committee aligned to agreed internal targets and scorecards.
  • Coordinate business unit and function scorecard submissions while ensuring robust challenge and adding valuable analysis and insights.
  • Complete Financial Framework scenario modelling to support financial strategy and enable the CFO to provide insight and challenge in Board and Executive Committee discussions.
  • Support the Interim and Annual Report announcements in production of insightful investor presentations, results packs and Q&A responses.
  • Production of Business Review for the Interim and Annual Report.
  • Collaborate with other Finance teams to identify key messages and potential areas of challenge for results announcements.
  • Carry out regular peer and market analysis and feed that into the strategy discussions and financial framework for the organisation.

  • Qualified accountant or actuary
  • FP&A, commercial finance, strategic finance or performance‑management experience within a complex financial services organisation
  • Experience in life insurance or pensions, including a strong understanding of IFRS 17, Solvency II and the drivers of profit, cash and capital performance
  • Proven experience managing multiple priorities and prioritising accordingly
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Good commercial judgement, analytical capability and confidence providing constructive challenge to senior stakeholders
