At the Pension Protection Fund (PPF), we safeguard the futures of nearly 300,000 members by compensating defined benefit (DB) pension scheme holders when their sponsoring employers become insolvent. With over £30 billion in assets under management, our investments support long-term economic growth across the UK.

Our award-winning team of around 450 professionals has earned the IPE UK Pension Fund of the Year title three times in six years. We work closely with government and industry partners to improve outcomes for scheme members, employers, and the broader pension system—playing a vital role in strengthening retirement security nationwide.

We are looking for a Senior Pension Project Analyst to join our team managing a portfolio of pension schemes within the PPF legislative framework. This is a key role where you will lead on your own portfolio of schemes and support the delivery of others, ensuring smooth transitions for schemes transferring into the PPF or successful buyouts for overfunded cases.

In this role, you will lead and manage a portfolio of pension schemes through the assessment process, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. You’ll support streams of work across the team, collaborating with senior stakeholders and providing guidance to analysts, while also working closely with senior colleagues on complex cases and contributing to strategic decision-making. Building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders is, as you’ll ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed plans and budgets.

You’ll collaborate with internal teams, including technical, legal, and operational, to resolve issues and keep projects on track, making risk-based decisions to enable schemes to complete assessment on time and within budget. Accuracy and transparency are essential, so you’ll ensure updates to PPF systems and share scheme-related information with relevant internal users. Additionally, you’ll peer-review work from other team members to maintain quality and consistency across the team.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in managing multiple projects or portfolios of schemes, with the ability to analyse complex information and make risk-based decisions to overcome challenges and keep projects on track. You’ll have a track record of providing leadership on projects or specific areas of work, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines and budgets.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as you’ll work with a range of internal and external parties to achieve successful outcomes.
