Secure Consult is seeking a Senior Penetration Tester with CHECK Team Lead expertise for a two-year contract based in Taunton. The role is hybrid but heavy on site, requiring approx. 110 days on client premises annually.

You will lead offensive security assessments across infrastructure and web applications, deliver high-quality reports, and contribute to proposals and service development. DV clearance is preferred or obtainable, with SC clearance acceptable if progression to DV is possible.

The opportunity

An opportunity for a Senior Penetration Tester with CHECK Team Lead expertise to support a two-year contract requiring DV clearance for approximately 110 onsite days annually. The role involves leading and delivering offensive security assessments across infrastructure and web application domains, providing high-quality client reporting, and contributing to service development. Ideal candidates are already DV cleared within commuting distance of Taunton or hold SC clearance capable of progressing to DV clearance on the job. What you could work on

• Lead and deliver offensive security assessments including web applications, APIs, and infrastructure
• Produce detailed technical and executive reports tailored to diverse audiences
• Support pre-sales activities and contribute technical input to tenders and proposals
• Conduct quality assurance of reports and testing methodologies
• Collaborate across teams to share technical knowledge and enhance client solutions
• Lead team assessments as required
• Carry out research and develop new testing techniques during non-client work
• Client-facing penetration testing experience with strong communication skills
• Proficient in infrastructure and web application/API testing and device configuration reviews
• Holds CREST Certified Tester (CCT) or Cyber Scheme Team Leader (CSTM) with infrastructure specialism
• NCSC CHECK Team Leader certification with at least Principal Cyber Security Professional (PriCSP) title
• Ability to produce high-quality reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Self-motivated capable of working independently and within a team
• Holds or can obtain Developed Vetting (DV) clearance; SC clearance acceptable if willing to progress to DV
