Job summary

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust seeks a specialist physiotherapist for the Neurodisability and Tone Management Service. You will work within an integrated therapy team, assessing and treating children with complex neurodisability and supporting ward-based rehabilitation.

HCPC registration is required, with significant post-graduate experience. The role involves supervision of juniors and collaboration with multi-agency teams to optimise outcomes for children and young people.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in physiotherapy recognised by the HCPC.
• Level 7 study.
• HCPC registration.
• Significant post-graduate experience in relevant specialist fields.
• Experience supervising and delegating tasks to junior staff.
• Experience working in a multiagency team.

Responsibilities

• Provide a clinical role in tone management for children with cerebral palsy and other neurological disorders.
• Deliver advanced, evidence-based assessment and treatment in line with recognised national standards.
• Join the integrated neurology therapy service, working with the neurology therapy team.
• Work autonomously to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate interventions for patients with complex neurodisability.
• Apply advanced analytical and clinical reasoning to decisions on each child's management and physical presentation.
• Give specialist advice, education and liaison to patients, carers, colleagues and multi-agency teams.
• Supervise junior staff and students.
• Support the wider neurology team in managing children and young people with neurodisability.
