Job summary

ALTEN, a global engineering and technology consultancy, seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for high‑reliability electronics production in Telford. You will optimise PCB manufacturing processes, drive continuous improvement, and deliver advanced engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Location is Telford with on‑site work 3 days per week; seniority 5+ years required and BPSS clearance is a stated consideration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or relevant technical military background with equivalent experience.
• Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• IPC standards knowledge.
• Electronics assembly process experience.

Responsibilities

• Support and improve PCB manufacturing processes across production operations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and yield.
• Investigate manufacturing issues and lead root cause analysis activities.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to optimise manufacturability.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
• Support new product introduction activities and process validation exercises.
