Job summary

Advanced, part of Halma, is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot and improve PCB and electronics manufacturing equipment. You will work across SMT, reflow, wave soldering and AOI systems to ensure maximum uptime and quality.

The role requires hands-on electrical, electronic, automation and mechanical skills, plus a focus on safety and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or Maintenance Engineering.
• Strong fault-finding skills on electrical and electronic systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with pneumatic systems and automated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on PCB manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults on SMT machines, reflow ovens, wave soldering, AOI and pick-and-place systems.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and production lines.
• Support continuous improvement through equipment modifications.
