Senior Partnership Development Officer (Band 6)
Job Summary

You will work directly with the Digital Organ Donor Register Team at NHSBT, collaborating closely with key partner contacts. Drawing on your existing knowledge, skills, and expertise, you will develop and manage national relationships aimed at driving a consistent and sustained increase in organ donor registrations. These efforts will contribute to raising the organ donation consent rate, ultimately helping to reduce the transplant waiting list.

In addition to supporting the department lead and key internal and external stakeholders across the NHS, you will be expected to work independently, using your initiative and discretion to shape the role and its impact.

This position will be instrumental in enhancing existing digital pathways across both public and private sector industries, and where necessary, creating new ones to influence behaviour change and improve consent rates for organ donation.

As part of the Communications and Engagement Directorate, you’ll engage with a wide range of audiences to drive performance. With a strong emphasis on capability building, you’ll have access to coaching and development opportunities from the department lead and wider team.

Main Duties
  • Develop, implement and evaluate a component of the partnership strategy in support of the organisation’s aims and objectives.
  • Initiate and develop strategic digital partnerships with strategically relevant organisations and companies to help raise awareness and deliver organ donor recruitment.
  • Manage partner outreach and management, working closely with relevant colleagues to ensure contact and stakeholder work is managed consistently and effectively.
  • Work closely with the donation register team to ensure that opportunities for building user‑centred redirects to the organ donor register are delivered as partnerships are effectively progressed.

You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.

About You
Experience and Knowledge
  • Experience of working in a partnership / business development role.
  • Experience of managing relationships with partners.
  • Excellent knowledge of campaigns and marketing activities and experience of working with specialist communications teams (e.g. Marketing & Campaigns, Media & PR, Stakeholder Relations) as well as partners and other external contacts to deliver integrated publicity campaigns.
  • Experience of giving professional advice and support through influence and persuasion.
  • Experience of the techniques and systems for evaluating partnership and engagement activity.
  • Understanding of and respect for donor / patient confidentiality.
  • Experience of working with Information Technology using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) to an advanced level.
Qualifications and Training
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Relevant postgraduate degree / professional qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD).
