Job summary

DWF Law LLP is seeking a highly skilled Senior Paralegal to join our Technical Recoveries Team in Manchester. You will manage a caseload of debt recovery matters for multiple clients, from scoping matters to delivering time-critical results within budget and legal parameters.

The Technical Recoveries Team sits within our Commercial Services Practice Group, supporting the Collections and Legal units, with hybrid work across Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham or Newcastle and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Ability to manage a caseload of 60–80 files with prioritisation.
• Strong strategic thinking and decisive, action-focused decision-making.
• Proficiency in ICT including Microsoft Office and database tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, legal research and technical competencies.
• Collaborative skills to work across diverse teams and business units.
• Integrity, openness to debate and sharing best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide ad hoc advice to clients and colleagues on non-referred matters.
• Brief counsel for complex matters and review matters at referral stage.
• Handle pre-action disputes, drafting documents, negotiating settlements, and preparing for hearings/trials.
• Communicate scopes and progress to clients and internal teams.
• Interact with litigants, lawyers, and courts; progress matters to conclusion.
• Utilise the Liberate case management system effectively.
• Provide line management and supervision for junior team members; report to Specialist Manager.
