Job summary

Dean Wilson LLP in Brighton is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join the Dispute Resolution team, specialising in Lease Extensions and Freehold Enfranchisement. You will support senior fee earners, manage your own caseload and help develop junior team members.

The role covers statutory and voluntary lease extensions, freehold acquisitions, deeds of variation, and related SDLT/Land Registry tasks. A minimum of five years' legal experience is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience within the legal sector.
• Proven experience in residential leasehold matters, including lease extensions and freehold acquisitions.
• Residential conveyancing experience is desirable.
• Strong organisational, communication and client care skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage a varied workload.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of leasehold and enfranchisement matters under supervision.
• Support Partners and Solicitors on complex cases.
• Draft notices, deeds, correspondence and other legal documentation.
• Assist with the supervision and development of junior team members.
• Provide excellent client care and maintain strong client relationships.
• Ensure files are managed in accordance with firm procedures and SRA requirements.
• Record time accurately and meet billing and administrative requirements.

Senior Paralegal, Lease Extensions and Enfranchisement

Role: Senior Paralegal

Department: Dispute Resolution (Lease Extensions & Freehold Enfranchisement)

Salary: £32,000 to £36,000 depending on experience.

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Paralegal with a minimum of five years’ legal experience to join Dean Wilson’s Dispute Resolution team, specialising in Lease Extensions and Freehold Enfranchisement. Working alongside leading specialists in the field, you will support senior fee earners, manage your own caseload and assist in the development of junior team members.

Your work will cover a broad range of property matters, including statutory and voluntary lease extensions, collective and individual freehold acquisitions, Deeds of Variation, Licences for Alterations and Assignments, Deeds of Covenant and Notices of Transfer. You will also handle completion and post-completion matters, including SDLT and Land Registry applications.

Key Responsibilities

These will include but not limited to:-
