Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Paint Laboratory Technician to monitor and control processes at the BCP Paint Plant. You will conduct laboratory tests on tank samples, adjust dosing, and ensure plant conditions meet specified limits while maintaining safety and environment procedures.

The role involves data recording, monthly analysis, and testing paint properties. Candidates should have industrial paint experience, strong attention to detail, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a paint laboratory for pre-treatment and/or electro-deposition production lines.
• Experience in wet and powder paint techniques.
• Possess a current forklift truck licence.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control paint plant processes and tanks; perform laboratory tests on tank samples.
• Maintain plant equipment; ensure temperatures, levels and spray pressures stay within limits.
• Record process data and perform monthly statistical analysis.
• Test paint properties (film thickness, gloss, orange peel); prepare test panels and corrosion tests.
• Replenish chemicals and manage inventory; operate forklift to move materials.
