Job summary

Opcare in Wirral is seeking an experienced Senior Orthotist to provide clinical cover across Walton Centre, Wirral community and schools clinics. You will deliver a high-quality orthotic service to adults and paediatric patients.

The role involves MDT working, training, audits and engagement in service development across networks including CAD/CAM, scanning and clinical governance projects.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Prosthetics and Orthotics or equivalent.
• HCPC registered or eligible to register.
• Full driving licence is essential.
• Postgraduate qualification in a clinical area preferred.
• Practice educator training is advantageous.
• BAPO and ISPO membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert clinical care across diverse patient groups with evidence-based practice.
• Leads MDT decision-making and supports complex case management.
• Works independently within established guidelines with minimal supervision.
• Supports colleagues on cost-effective clinical solutions within prescription guidelines.
• Leads training, student placements and staff development initiatives.
• Delivers professional training and presentations to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Undertakes CPD and reflective practice to maintain knowledge.
• Leads audits, service evaluations and research with attention to documentation and data integrity.
• Monitors KPIs and helps teams meet performance standards.
