Job summary

Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a senior orthotist to join our orthotics service on a permanent basis. The role focuses on prescribing a wide range of orthoses, with emphasis on diabetic foot care, within a multidisciplinary team of podiatrists, endocrinologists and vascular consultants.

The post involves teaching undergraduates, apprentices and colleagues while contributing to clinical audits and service development.

Qualifications

• Extensive orthotics experience with complex prescriptions.
• Experience in diabetes care within a multidisciplinary setting.
• Proven teaching experience with undergraduates, apprentices and colleagues.

This senior orthotist post sits in the orthotics service at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, a permanent B7 role within a large clinical team. The work centres on prescribing a wide range of orthoses and giving advice to patients, with the main focus on diabetic foot care and provision. The post combines this with working in a multidisciplinary team alongside podiatrists, endocrinologists and vascular consultants, plus teaching undergraduates, apprentices and colleagues. Extensive prior experience in diabetes and multidisciplinary working is essential for fit.
