Senior Operations Manager - Streetscene & Environmental Services

Location: Salford

Pay: £38.46 per hour PAYE (inc. Holiday) | £44.45 per hour LTD (Inside IR35)

Contract: Full-Time 37 hours per week | Temporary 3 Months

About the Role

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Senior Operations Manager on behalf of a local authority in Salford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operational leader to oversee and support the delivery of key frontline services within Streetscene & Environmental Services, including Street Cleansing, Winter Weather Services, and Waste & Recycling Collections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Waste Operations site, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Lead on planning, delivery, and monitoring of service performance across multiple operational teams.
  • Motivate and manage a large workforce of operational staff, fostering a positive and productive culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement across services, ensuring effective resource allocation and service delivery standards.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders, employees, and partners, maintaining strong working relationships and operational transparency.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working at a senior management level overseeing large-scale, front-line operational or logistics services.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of improving operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Experience in Waste Services is desirable but not essential. Candidates with experience in similar operational or logistics environments are encouraged to apply.
