An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Senior Operations Manager to join the Environmental Health team in Salford. This rewarding role offers a competitive hourly rate of £42.15, alongside flexible working options that allow you to choose between full-time and part-time hours.

As a locum Senior Operations Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality Streetscene and Environmental Services, including waste and recycling, street cleansing, and winter maintenance. This is your chance to lead large-scale operational services and make a lasting impact in the local community while developing your expertise in environmental management and operational leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the daily operations of Streetscene and Environmental Services, ensuring effective delivery across waste collection, recycling, street cleansing, and winter weather services.
  • Manage the operational site, ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement operational plans to achieve service objectives and improve efficiency.
  • Motivate and guide a large team of staff, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Monitor budgets, resources, and service performance, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
  • Communicate confidently and effectively with internal stakeholders, external partners, and the public to maintain strong relationships and trust.
  • Use data and performance insights to inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Apply your leadership skills and operational expertise, whether from a waste services, logistics, or facilities management background.
