Senior Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager - BESS

Remote with Nationwide and International Travel

£70'000 - £100'000 + Private Health Care + Holidays + Pension

Are you a seasoned O&M Manager with experience working on utility-scale renewable infrastructure, eager for an autonomous role where you can enhance your leadership career and contribute to prestigious BESS developments across the UK and Europe?

This forward‑thinking company specialises in the development, construction and management of grid‑scale battery energy storage projects nationwide. They have thrived in recent years as the BESS market grows significantly, and as a result they are now looking to expand their passionate team of industry experts to continue on their upward trajectory.

In this role you will be responsible for leading operations and maintenance activities on battery energy storage sites across the country. You will manage O&M activities on site, mentor engineers, organise schedules and call‑out rotas, monitor site performance metrics and ensure H&S is adhered to. This is also a hands‑on role where you will carry out some planned and reactive maintenance activities. Sites are located across England and Europe, so frequent travel and stay‑aways will be required.

The ideal candidate will be an O&M professional with strong knowledge and experience working on utility‑scale renewable projects. You will have experience leading and managing teams, and will hold a relevant qualification in an electrical / electro‑mechanical discipline. It is essential that you are available and willing to travel internationally when required.

The Role:

• Lead and oversee O&M activities for utility‑scale BESS projects
• Supervise engineers on site ensuring high quality of work
• Organise engineering schedule and on‑call rota
• Monitor and analyse site performance metrics
• Manage client / stakeholder relationships, acting as technical liaison
• Carry out O&M activities when required
• Nationwide and International travel, on‑call work and stay‑aways required

The Person:

• Experienced O&M Manager
• A background working on utility‑scale BESS or Solar PV systems
• Qualified in electrical / electro‑mechanical discipline
• Full UK driving licence
