Job summary

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist for the Stamford Unit. The role is Band 6, permanent, 37.5 hours per week, based in Ashton-under-Lyne, delivering assessments, treatment and advice to adults in intermediate care and rehabilitation.

You will lead the MDT, supervise staff, provide a range of therapies, and contribute to safe discharge planning while maintaining professional standards and participating in a 7‑day service.

Qualifications

• Qualified Occupational Therapist able to lead MDT and manage a rehabilitation caseload.
• Able to provide skilled assessments, treatment and goal formulation for adults in intermediate care.
• Demonstrates professional and legal standards in service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the MDT in intermediate care and rehabilitation to support timely discharge.
• Provide autonomous therapy assessments, treatments and goal setting for adult patients.
• Line manage a cohort of staff within the MDT and supervise students and trainees.
• Ensure a range of daily therapies including group and one-to-one interventions.
• Maintain professional standards and contribute to service improvement.
