Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent (BSc, MSc or Diploma) entry level into OT.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Documented evidence of continuing professional development.
• Member of Royal College of Occupational Therapy.
• Relevant post-graduate clinical experience in a variety of settings.
• Clinical supervisor.
• Community experience.
• Accepts responsibility and accountability for own work; defines responsibilities of others.

Responsibilities

• Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own and delegated work.
• Work within codes of practice and professional guidelines.
• Undertake holistic assessment (including complex presentations) using clinical reasoning skills.
• Use evidence-based practice to ensure clinical care is effective and appropriate.
• Promote independence and aim to avoid hospital admission and reduce inpatient length of stay.
• Organise and manage own time, delegating work appropriately.
• Contribute to risk assessments and health and safety assessments and report any risks.
• Demonstrate importance of obtaining patient and carer consent.
• Ensure accurate and timely written records comply with Trust policy and HCPC guidance.
