• Working collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to integrate occupational therapy into holistic care plans.

• Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Clinical Practice: To undertake specialist occupational therapy assessments, analysing the functional, cognitive, and psychosocial needs of service users with complex mental health conditions.
• Intervention Planning: To develop, implement, and evaluate individualised intervention plans using a range of evidence-based, recovery-focused approaches, both individually and in groups.
• Caseload Management: To autonomously manage a defined caseload, taking responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of service users, using graded activity to achieve therapeutic goals.
• Leadership & Supervision: To provide supervision, support, and guidance to junior staff, support workers, and OT students on practice placements.
• MDT Collaboration: To work collaboratively as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), contributing specialist OT perspectives to care planning and risk management.
• Service Development: To contribute to the development and evaluation of the OT service and to lead on specific projects or areas of clinical practice.
• Professional Conduct: To maintain high standards of professional conduct and HCPC registration at all times, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Essential Qualifications:
• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current and valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Significant post-qualification experience working as an Occupational Therapist within a mental health setting.
• Proven experience of managing a complex caseload autonomously.
• Experience of providing supervision to junior staff or students.
• In-depth knowledge of the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) or other recognised OT models.
• Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning, and intervention skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
