Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join the multidisciplinary team providing therapy services to our 16-bed Low Secure Service for men, based in Ipswich.

NSFT Secure Mental Health Services have been consistently rated "Good" by the CQC and we are looking for an enthusiastic, Recovery‑focussed and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join the Foxhall House team and the service on our journey to "Outstanding".

Main duties of the job

In this role, the post-holder will be responsible for the provision of the Occupational Therapy Service at Foxhall House.

You will be part of a Therapy team that bases its approach on the Model of Human Occupation. The aim is to maintain, restore or create a match between the abilities of the person, the demands of their activities and occupations, and the demands of the environment in order to improve function, promote independence and enhance opportunities for meaningful participation in daily life, whilst working alongside with the multidisciplinary Team

Within this role you will lead a motivated, skilled ward therapy team working alongside an Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner, a Fitness Therapy Technical Instructor and a Teacher. This is a stand‑alone unit, so the right candidate will be able to work autonomously and provide leadership on the ward when needed.

You will work under the umbrella of the well‑established NSFT Secure Services Occupational and Fitness Therapy Team, which is embedded across not only Foxhall House, but also the four forensic inpatient wards in Norwich.
