Era4 seeks an Observability Platform Engineer to design, implement, and operate its enterprise observability platform across UK AI infrastructure. You will build scalable telemetry, dashboards, and alerting using Grafana, Kubernetes, and OpenTelemetry.

You will define standards, automate platform operations, support incident detection and root-cause analysis, and ensure security and resilience as Era4 scales.

Qualifications

• Significant experience implementing and operating enterprise observability platforms.
• In-depth understanding of metrics, logs, traces, and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with Grafana ecosystem technologies and multi-site deployments.
• Designing Kubernetes-native solutions at scale and operating distributed platforms.
• Linux systems administration and cloud-native infrastructure.
• IaC and GitOps approaches (Ansible preferred).
• Automation using Python and/or Go.
• Strong architecture, documentation and deployment design.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement highly available observability services across multiple sites.
• Define telemetry standards, data governance, and retention policies.
• Configure multi-tenant observability controls and tenant isolation.
• Develop and maintain telemetry ingestion pipelines for metrics and logs.
• Maintain object-storage-backed telemetry for long-term retention.
• Deploy Grafana Alloy collectors across Kubernetes clusters and infrastructure.
• Integrate telemetry from Kubernetes, GPU, storage, networks, and cloud services.
• Develop observability integrations using OpenTelemetry standards.
• Establish onboarding processes for new platforms and apps.
• Collaborate with teams to define observability requirements and tracing strategies.
• Design alerting frameworks and KPIs; implement AlertManager rules.
• Implement IaC / GitOps for deployment, automate dashboard provisioning, and DR planning.
• Ensure security, resilience, and operational governance of observability services.
