Job summary

Akeley Wood Junior School is seeking a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our Nursery team at Akeley Wood Nursery and Junior School, Buckingham. This permanent role offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm shifts, and a salary of up to £29,500 per annum.

You will provide high‑quality care, support age-appropriate learning activities, work as a Key Worker and collaborate with families and colleagues to nurture every child’s development.

Qualifications

• Level 3 childcare qualification (or above) essential.
• Experience in a nursery or Early Years setting.
• Strong communication with colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care across physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.
• Support planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities.
• Build warm relationships with children and families with clear communication.
• Act as Key Worker, observing and documenting progress.
• Maintain a safe, clean and stimulating environment with high standards of care.
• Support daily routines including meals, rest, play and transitions.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive setting.
