Job summary

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join as a Band 6 Charge Nurse, providing clinical leadership and senior nursing support within the ward. The postholder will regularly take charge of the ward, supporting the Ward Manager in delivering safe, evidence-based care to patients and their families.

You will lead on coordinating ward activities, managing staffing and resources, and support recruitment, appraisal and staff development, ensuring policies

Qualifications

• Must hold current NMC registration.
• Experience in Band 5/6 roles is desirable.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills required.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Band 6 Charge Nurse, providing clinical leadership and senior nursing support within the ward.

The postholder will regularly take charge of the ward, supporting the Ward Manager in the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality evidence-based care. You will provide clinical expertise, supervision and guidance to nursing staff and students, while maintaining a visible clinical presence and supporting patients and their families throughout their care.

You will play a key role in coordinating the ward, managing staffing and resources, supporting recruitment, appraisal, supervision and staff development, and ensuring that Trust policies, professional standards and statutory requirements are consistently met.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Registered Nurse with strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities and make safe, effective decisions in a busy clinical environment.
