Main duties of the job

As a Senior Nurse, you will manage a team ofRegistered Nurses, Nurse Associates, and Healthcare Assistants, ensuring thedelivery of high-quality palliative care services. You will support theClinical Nurse Manager in promoting a positive working environment and overseethe provision, supervision, coordination, and quality review of clinicalservices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of nurses and healthcareassistants, fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
  • Ensure compliance with Marie Curie policies,procedures, and clinical standards.
  • Oversee caseload management and contribute toservice delivery planning.
  • Support investigations into incidents andcomplaints, ensuring lessons learned are implemented.
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives andparticipate in audits and research.
  • Deputise for the Clinical Nurse Manager whenrequired.
  • Promote patient-centred care and advocate forindividuals and families.
  • Ensure effective communication with patients,families, and the wider community.

Job responsibilities

Job Structure : Permanent; Full Time 37.5 Hours/Week

Shifts : 9:00am 5:00pm Monday to Friday and occasional night shifts.

Salary : Marie Curie Pay Scale Band 6 (aligned with AFC) £38,682 - £46,580 per annum, Plus High-Cost Area Supplement

Based : Hybrid Primarily home based. There will be occasional requirements to work night shifts at Clayponds Hospital, as necessary and mutually agreed upon.

  • Strong time management skills and committed to providing high-quality care.
  • Experience in observation and assessment of clinical practice, to determine standards of care
  • An understanding of specific needs of patients approaching end of life and in the terminal phase.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to travel as required
